Rackspace

All equipment is provisioned in 47RU 19" racks. The cost of rackspace is based on the vertical height of your equipment and charged per RU (~45mm).

Rackmount equipment must be supplied with mounting rails. Shelving is supplied for non-rackmount servers.

Bandwidth

All networking is provisioned using a combination of Gigabit and 100Mbps ethernet connections.

Data pricing is based on inbound data only. There are no charges on outbound data provided that the ratio of outbound to inbound is not excessive (must be less than 10:1).

Standard network connections are clear channel with no firewalling in place.

Shared Secure Port

A hardware based firewall is configured and managed for your individual server. You define the list of ports that you require open and Anchor takes care of the rest. Security advice is provided free of charge in order to assist you define a secure ruleset.

Private Secure Port

The private secure port builds on the shared secure port service with the addition of vlans to protect you not only from other computers on the Internet but also from other Anchor clients located behind the same firewall.

Secure Segment

The private segment is an implementation of the private secure port service for multiple computers. If you have multiple servers provisioned within the co-location facility this service provides free communication between your server whilst still maintaining security from the outside world.

Dedicated Firewall

A dedicated managed firewall can be provisioned for clients that require a combination of security with high data transfer volumes. This product is suitable for users with a total data transfer above 250GB/month.

Intrusion Detection System (IDS)

When security is of up most importance and the risk of attack is very real a managed IDS service can be used to protect your application. The service is monitored and customised to your individual requirements.

VPN End point

Anchor can facilitate the establishment of VPN services between your primary work site and co-location equipment using standards based protocols (IPSec and L2TP supported).

Server Monitoring

Monitoring of your server can be provided via pager and email notifications. Network connections and individual services such as web or email servers on your equipment can be monitored.

Remote reboot

Provides a web based interface to allow you to control the power supply to your server remotely. If your server crashes or hangs at any time you can reset it without the need to contact us or gain physical access to your server.

Redundant network handoff

A second network connection can be provided which in combination with a second network card will ensure your machine stays online in the event of cabling fault or port failure in the switch you are connected to.

Tape Rotation

Tape libraries can be rotated and stored offsite on a daily or weekly basis.

Online backup service

An online backup service that operates via FTP over a secure ethernet segment can be provided to ensure your servers are backed up daily. This service provides daily offsite tape backups without incurring the costs of tape rotation and individual backup devices.

Load balancing

A network based load balancing service can be provided, configured either to spread the load between multiple servers or to act in failover mode to provide an increased level of redundancy.

Secondary mail services

If a single server is being used to provide email services, secondary mail services can be run from our mail servers to prevent mail bouncing in the event that your server is not contactable.

Whilst your mail server is not reachable all mail will be queued on our servers. Our servers will attempt to make delivery of the mail to your mail server once every hour. If queued mail cannot be delivered after 5 days it will be rejected.

DNS hosting

Either primary and secondary, or just secondary DNS services can be run from our DNS servers.

After hours access

The data centre is staffed during business hours. A technician is on call 24 x 7 to provide after hours access.
