Dedicated servers for resellers

Anchor's range of dedicated servers are an ideal starting point for organisations that have the capacity to manage a server but don't want to invest in the infrastructure required to support it.

How it works

A dedicated server provides you with your own machine located in our data centre. The data centrre provides a secure physical environment, reliable power (via UPS and diesel generator), and high speed redundant Internet connections.

All servers are provided with hardware management. The hardware is monitored and in the event of failure of any component Anchor will replace the failed components.

Anchor can provide you with a range of support and hardware options ranging from firewalling, patching, configuration management, tape backups and more.

Server management applications such as Plesk, cPanel or Ensim can be installed to simplify the process of configuring virtual hosting accounts.

Is a dedicated server the right option for me?

If you intend to run a web hosting service from a dedicated server you do need to have the skills required to manage the server or allow a budget to pay Anchor to perform all required management (either via the Anchor Complete support pack or Remote hands service).

To manage your own server you should:

• Have a good understanding of Internet protocols
• Know how to install and configure the applications you will need (eg web server, mail server, ftp and ssh) or be prepared to learn.
• Be prepared to apply security patches and bug fixes regularly
• Understand DNS
